At the recent ASCRS/ASOA conference in Washington DC, we participated in a practice management panel discussion. The course was a great opportunity for ophthalmology administrators, practice managers, and surgeons to learn more about co-management compliance, including best practices for the compliant handling of co-management fees.
A full room of nearly 100 attendees of the ASOA course 10701, “Compliance in Co-Management in 2022,” heard Sean Hanlon, CoFi’s founder, Allison Shuren (Partner, Arnold & Porter), and Guido Piquet (COO of Mann Eye Institute) discuss the relevant issues and solutions around co-management, including:
Updates on high-profile issues in co-management
Co-management best practices for ophthalmology practices
Experiences from a large practice with a vast network of referring optometrists
The importance of compliance with respect to co-management payments
