1. What challenges or issues were you facing that led you to consider adopting CoFi?

Our biggest challenge was managing payments with a large number of co-managing doctors—keeping track of which patients they sent and ensuring the right co-managing fees were paid. It was a huge administrative burden. We needed a solution to streamline payments and keep track of those patients.


2. Has CoFi reduced administrative time spent on payment reconciliation?

Absolutely. Just this morning, a doctor called asking about a patient they had referred, and instead of digging through emails, I could simply tell them to check CoFi. They can log in, see exactly where their patient is in the process, and track their payment in real time. It’s great that doctors have that access to this information. We’ve saved a significant amount of time each week by cutting down on follow-ups and eliminating the need to manually issue checks.


3. How has CoFi had an impact on your co-management relationships?

It definitely has helped. Prior to CoFi, I was not cutting checks every single surgical day for the co-managing doctors. We would cut them a check within 4-6 weeks so they’d have to wait for that payment. But with CoFi, the OD is collecting their fee directly from the patient, up front, just like we do and the surgery center does. So they receive their fee earlier and automatically, which they really appreciate.


4. How have you integrated CoFi into your practice to maximize its benefits?

We use it on surgery days, so when a patient comes in, we already have CoFi pulled up and ready. Payments are processed on the spot, and the practice, the surgery center, and co-managing doctors receive their fees directly and automatically. The patient can see everything laid out on their invoice, which adds transparency.


5. What features do you like most about CoFi?

I like that it already has all your procedures and fees. You’re not entering pricing from scratch every time—it’s all there, ready to go. And if you need to apply a discount, it’s easy to adjust. It saves a ton of time.


6. Were there any surprise benefits from using CoFi that you didn't expect?

The ease of it was a great surprise. Usually nothing is as easy as advertised, but CoFi actually delivers on that promise.


7. What would you say to other ophthalmology practices considering CoFi?

Using CoFi is a no-brainer—it’s simple, efficient, and saves time. If you’re doing any co-managing you should be using it, because otherwise you’re just wasting your time.
